So
I have a lot of practicing to do, but I have to tell you guys about my night! Get ready!!!!
I was meeting up with Gelica and Brian at the Lillian Smith Library. It's towards the beginning of College Street and I was near Christie. I walked and it was about a 30-45 minute walk, I think. It should have been quicker, but I have hamster legs! :c
Anyways!
I got there. And I got to meet Gelica for the FIRST TIME in person. She makes me so happy. She's like a long lost best friend. Together we are so awesome and we're like super heroes. The three of us waited until 7pm to walk to Free Times Cafe where the event, WordSpell, was happening.
Once we got there... the sign said "8:30pm!" LOL
We were like OMG but it's so cold.
Then we walked a few blocks to China Town and we got pho. Yum yum. We talked a lot about schools, restaurant manners, bagged milk, and beer! Fun! The place took cash only, so I just paid and then Bri paid me back. But he realized that I was poor so he ended up giving me extra money. Awww d'aww he's like my brother. 0:)
So we walked back to Free Times Cafe. The features were cool. Patrick was drunk lmao! Brian had to take notes for his homework. I was getting sleepy. The bartender asked us if we wanted drink, but I don't know how to order/drink beer, obviously cuz it's totally illegal in America. LOL so we just sat and watched.
The open mic only had 3 people, including me. It was fun!
My favorite part of the night was when someone asked "Where are you from????" I'm from Lowell, Ma. I'm just here to show you a taste of my city.
Tomorrow afternoon I'm performing at a high school with Patrick. Then I'm checking out OCAD, an art school. Friday is crunch time. phew. Back to practicing. I miss you guys at home.
love & lowell,
little mars
Knowing that you're in Toronto, and being adventurous, making new friends, going out and performing.. It makes me so incredibly happy for you! You're taking in the city so bravely, and on your own terms. So proud.. tear, tear. (:
