Anyway!!
I left the apartment around noon. This is what I am wearing today:
So walk...walk..and I'm walking.
my homie ^
Their parking meters are cool. I think I broke one last night because I walked by and randomly pressed a button and everything flipped out... Shhh...
FIRST STOP! TIM HORTONS! Of course! I needed my caffeine! T_T
When I got there, people were very nice and in awe of how polite I am. I mean, holding the door for elderly and disabled is common courtesy, but I am glad that they appreciated my help. :)
I decided to get a cafe mocha. It was so good! I paid $2.25 for it so I'm glad it was yummy...
I'm still getting used to using Canadian currency, but that is a $2 coin! And a quarter. lol I still use my American coins though, besides the loonies and toonies. So a loonie is $1, they don't use $1 bills here!! It's weird. lol and 2 loonies = a toonie. Drives me crazy... :c
Yay!
So after Tim Hortons, I knew where I was going! I had my eye on a lot of places after walking around last night.
In Korea Town, all the little things that hold trees and mulch have cute little paintings on them.
This one made me miss Jasper lol:
Last night I walked by haji which is a Japanese paper store. They have such cute cards and stationary, etc. Also you can learn how to bind a book there. They sell a lot of amazing, beautiful things. I wanted to buy everything, but I don't have the money to do that yet. However pictures will have to suffice:
I've learned that in Canada, the gift shops/art stores are very fond of mobiles. I am, too. They are so cute!
Pretty, right??
So after browsing haji for about twenty minutes, I decided to make the trip to HONEST ED'S! Honest Ed's is like that Crazy Store #18 around Burlington. It's freaking awesome. I got most of my souvenirs from there because it was affordable and the stuff was just so cute!
I'm telling you. These Canadians love Obama. #2termz
Ummm I got like 5 of these bad boys. And they all have different cats on them. duh
Dude, ur a freak lyk3 go away... ^
Who wants to make me some bok la hong/papaya salad???? Homieeeee......... hook me up. I miss Khmer food!!!
I wanted to get my sissy this mug, but it was too expensive :( </3
I miss my mommy =(
After Honest Ed's, I decided to go to to Midoco which is an art store!
Lil homie is awesome! Too bad he costs like $15 lol
Peep the lil homie's teeth. So cute!! I miss my lil doggy!!!!
I found the coolest section of the store *_* I wanted to buy an easel but how would I bring it back home??? lol
I ended up buying these pins. So cute hehehehe!
After Midoco, I decided to go to the comic book store I saw to get my bro a comic book lol.
So ummm the comic book store I thought I saw is actually an art print/frame store. It's pretty neat though. I got some rad post cards from here. They're beautiful.
I also used my debit card for the first time here. The woman who rang me up was super nice. I told her I was from America and she really admired me for traveling so far on my own. She talked to me like I was lovely and it made me feel good. :)
After buying those post cards, I decided to head to BMV Books to check out the comic books. BMV Books is like our Used Book Superstores, but more expensive. x_x
Well that was a fail.
Peace outties.
As I left BMV Books, I spotted Labyrinth, a comic book/ manga/anime store across the street!!
I had to cross the street using the cross walk, and they had these cute free magazines on the corner of the sidewalk. They're gay and lesbian magazines! Cool! Also I saw two women holding hands so lovingly today, too. It was so beautiful and it made me so happy.
Finally! I got to Labyrinth.
And I had no luck there either. Pooey. I decided to walk back to the apartment, but I was thirsty so I stopped by a Korean store.
Of course I bought this aloe drink because I miss my mommy and she always buys these at home.
Almost there!!!
And a big smile for you guys back home!!!
I'm going to meet with Brian and his gf Gelica and we're going to get pho and go to this sick event. I'm gonna perform at the open mic!! Let's see how it goes.
love & lowell,
little mars
